"Fascinated with how his country-men could willingly capitulate to the ideology of Adolf Hitler and the horrors it spawned, (Fritz) Stern spent a fair amount of his career exploring this.
When I read the following quote from the Economist's obituary of Stern, I saw parallels with today. "Hitler's rise, he (Stern) argued, owed less to the Austrian corporal's personality, his thuggish supporters and brutish ideas, than to his opponents' cowardice and the weakness of Germany's "gatekeepers" - the guardians of its cultural and moral standards." ...the issues Australia faces are bigger than the rainbow political agenda. ...That Labor leader Bill Shorten can promise during an election to fund the so-called "Safe Schools" program which teaches children as young as four that "only you can know if you are a boy or a girl - no one can tell you" and there be so little push back is a failure of those of us who know better. Changing the definition of marriage to entrench motherless and fatherlessness in public policy and teaching our kids their gender is fluid should be opposed. The cowardice and weakness of Australia's "gatekeepers" is causing unthinkable things to happen, just as unthinkable things happened in Germany in the 1930s. Perhaps we have moved beyond cowardice to complicity." Lyle Shelton Courtesy: ACL Eric Metaxsas has launched his new book "If You Can Keep It The Forgotten Promise of American Liberty"
He makes the equally valid point for us in Australia that our freedom is not assured. It must be defended. July 2nd 2016 is shaping up to be a key date in Australia's history where we will see either the continuation of our freedom or the further abolition of our freedom. It is time to pray and act. ERIC METAXAS: "It is the secret at the heart of America’s founding—one that we have largely forgotten. Find out what it is—and about my new book. What does it mean to be an American? Unlike other countries, America is not defined by a particular ethnic or religious group. Instead, our country was formed around an idea: liberty. But what does it take to maintain liberty? It’s a question I try to answer in my new book, which is being released today, “If You Can Keep It: The Forgotten Promise of American Liberty.” Now, in order to find the answer to this question, we have to go back 229 years, to 1787. Having won the American Revolution, our founders went about creating a new form of government—one that would be strong, but not TOO strong; one that relied on self-government. The result, of course, was the U.S. Constitution—a marvel. As their summer-long convention finished, a woman asked Benjamin Franklin, “Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” He famously replied: “A republic, madam—if you can keep it!” And what could cause us to lose the republic? Well, that’s simple: the loss of virtue. Benjamin Franklin, like the other founders, understood that freedom and self-government absolutely depend on the practice of virtue. Have you heard that lately? Me neither. John Adams wrote that “the only foundation of a free Constitution is pure virtue.” READ ON -->> If You Can Keep It Available at the online bookstore If You Can Keep It: The Forgotten Promise of American Liberty Eric Metaxas | Viking Publishers | June 2016 You may also be interested in: A Free People’s Suicide: Sustainable Freedom and the American Future Os Guinness | IVP Books | July 2012 In an age when our children are being given iPads at school at an increasingly earlier age, even to take home with no filters/restrictions on them at all, what are parents to do? The following article may be of some interest: Apps and Internet Doorways: What Parents Need to Know by Chris McKenna • Kids are using different doorways to the Internet than the one we used when we were growing up. It’s no longer just enough to monitor the browser. Parents need to make an inventory of all of the different ways their kids can access the Internet and know the risks and benefits of the apps their kids use. Instagram, Pinterest, Musical.ly, and Twitter are full of pornographic video and picture content, just a few clicks away in the “search” feature. Due to the lack of parental controls, these searches can be deleted without you ever knowing. Specific to the issue of pornography, mom and dad, did you know?
In the Australian today:
"Fixing Australia's schools system will be top of the agenda if Bill Shorten becomes prime minister. The opposition leader nominated education as his first priority if he is successful on July 2. "I want to make sure that we've got properly funded schools," he told Triple M radio on Friday." Please do not be deceived by this. What most parents think of when they hear the words "properly funded," is a better academic education for their children, something which will help their children to get ahead in life, get a job, raise a family, contribute to a good society. But what Marxist inspired parties mean when they talk about increased school funding is providing millions of dollars to indoctrinate your children to believe radical socialist social engineering experiments. Like the $21m being provided for the deceptively named "Building Respectful Relationships" program or the millions provided for the radical and again deceptively named "Safe Schools" program, both of which are mostly all about promoting rainbow ideology and gender confusion in schools, messing up our children for life. Safe Schools founder admits: "It is not about bullying." Its about normalizing same sex acts to children. Committed Marxist Roz Ward, the founder of the homosexual normalization coalition program "Safe Schools" filmed below training homosexual activists on gay teaching techniques, admits that the Safe Schools "anti-bullying" program is NOT really about bullying at all. We knew this but it is helpful to hear it from the founder's mouth, so we can help people see through all the deceivers still promoting the Safe Schools deception as being an anti-bullying program. Read the transcript here . Email politicians now and tell them to: LEAVE OUR CHILDREN ALONE. No matter how hard a man tries he cannot be a mother to a child who needs a mother. No matter how hard a woman tries she cannot be a father to a child who needs a father.
Every child needs their mum and their dad. To intentionally cause a child to miss out on having their mum or their dad in their lives can't be right. Governments should not be involved in changing laws designed to protect children so as to cause a child to lose out on growing up with either their mum or their dad. This social experiment is doomed to cause heartache for a generation at least before people wake up to the folly of pretending gender does not matter in marriage and parenting. As is often the case those who will suffer the most at the hands of selfish adults are the children. Please speak up on their behalf and act to protect marriage, family and children. As we as a nation continue to reflect on how best we can acknowledge the original inhabitants of Australia, we should at a minimum listen to their request to defend marriage, family and children by resisting the rainbow juggernaut. It is offensive to Aboriginal Australians to even contemplate such behavior so we should not allow such a change in law to be imposed on them in their land Australia.
A GROUP of senior Aboriginal leaders is petitioning federal parliament to oppose the attack on marriage. THE Uluru bark petition, backed by leaders of 70 different indigenous cultural groups from Queensland to Western Australia, was formally delivered to Speaker Tony Smith. The group opposes the attack on marriage on the basis that traditional unions between a man and a woman have always been upheld amongst the oldest living culture on earth. Indigenous Liberal MP Ken Wyatt said fathers and mothers were deeply honoured in Aboriginal culture. "They form the foundation of our families, class and system, and pass down our teaching, culture our traditions from generation to generation," he told parliament. Read on about and sign The Uluru Bark Petition John Howard's article in the Australian newspaper on Saturday 27th February 2016 sounded an alarm about the culture war in Australia, warning that people are being "cowed" (bullied or intimidated) and are too scared to speak their mind freely on issues such as same-sex "marriage."
He has also noted the "dangerous anti-religious push" which has emerged in Australia generally, and specifically singled out Victorian Premier Daniel Andrew's anti-Christian pogrom as "pernicious" (evil or wicked.) Urging frightened Australian citizens to speak up, he said, "There is nothing homophobic about supporting traditional marriage." He said, "There is sense in which people are so frightened of being accused of being discriminatory or intolerant that they don't speak the commonsense view." "The standards of civil society in Australia were being undermined by a growing intolerance towards people who don't subscribe to a range of progressive views," "I think the problem is that too few people are prepared to call it for what it is," he said. The politicians are too scared to speak the commonsense view because they are scared of "losing votes." The people are too scared to speak against or act to stop this tyranny in case they "offend somebody," he said. He goes on to say, "there is a new form of minority fundamentalism" emerging, typified by the Greens use of the anti-discrimination law in Tasmania to silence opponents of the homosexual agenda. "Such cultural intolerance will provoke a backlash." Australian Senate Candidate Vickie Jensen has noted however that “Dr. Delaney Skerrett and a team of researchers from the Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention (AISRAP) found that a leading cause of suicide among LGBTI people is stress from the bad behaviour they are encouraged toward. Dr. Skerrett said… “We tend to assume that the psychological distress LGBTI people are often going through is due to family rejection. But it seems that’s not so much the case. The conflict seems to be largely related to relationship problems, with partners.” (Source of quote.)

8th June 2016 Our once young and free Australia is almost no longer free. We are at a crossroad, heading the wrong way, at increasing speed, toward financial and moral bankruptcy. But common sense can prevail, financial restraint and freedom can be defended on July 2nd 2016. If it is not, that date will be a dark page in Australia's history. Australia is no longer the free country our forefathers fought and died for. Since the recent rise of the "progressive" or "rainbow" movement seeking to undermine our foundations of morality, values, marriage, family, and children we have already started to lose our freedom. Freedom begins with being free to speak the truth. We are on the verge of losing this freedom and all others along with it, including freedoms of religion and conscience. If you doubt this try stating in the public square that marriage is between a man and a woman! An Australian citizen was vilified in the media and dragged before a tribunal recently in Tasmania for saying just this. We are not a free country anymore. The enemies at our gates are different from those our forefathers fought against in the two world wars. They seek the same end though: to subjugate us, force us into submission and impose their intolerant and reckless ways upon all of us. To date the weapons used by our enemies have been the media, infiltrated government education departments, and the use of intimidation and blackmail in Canberra. That will soon change if marriage is undermined. The tactics will soon include official blacklisting, fining and imprisoning of opponents. Churches will soon be labeled as “hate groups,” their holy books as “hate literature.” Australians need to awaken from their prosperity and ease induced slumber and form a rapid response to the movement at our gates. We need to stand up to these enemies before they overrun our society. We either resist or perish. Australia is at a crossroads. It has come fast and will overrun even faster if the people do not resist it on 2nd July 2016. A clean sweep is required. Continuing with the Liberals, ALP and Greens, will only hasten our demise, morally and financially. They have failed and should be relegated to the political dustbin on July 2nd. Vote for the minor values based parties such as Family First and put Libs, ALP, Greens last or not at all. The Root of All Freedoms: Kuyper on Religious Liberty as Divine Gift
Tuesday, June 7, 2016 By Joseph Sunde at the Acton Institute Blog As persecution intensifies around the world1, and as the incremental fight for religious liberty only begins here in America2, Christians have an obligation to better understand the role of religious liberty and how it intersects with God’s design for political institutions. Unfortunately, as a recent video3 from John MacArthur demonstrates, the confusion is more widespread than I’d like to believe. “We can’t expect religious liberty to exist as some kind of divine right, as some gift from God,” he says. “…We were never promised religious liberty. We were only promised persecution.” MacArthur goes on to paint a confusing and convoluted picture of the Christian’s role in government, arguing that, when it comes to the erosion of religious liberty here in America, it simply “doesn’t matter” because “our political conditions have nothing to do with the advancement of the kingdom of God.” “We don’t fight for quote-unquote ‘religious liberty,’” he says. “We might talk about it. We might vote to make it happen. We don’t fight for that.” MacArthur is right to remind us of Jesus’ promise of persecution, just as he’s right to remind us of some basic distinctions between current political conditions and the everlasting Kingdom of God. But in doing so, he falls prey to the typical temptations and false dichotomies of cultural fortification and the subsequent withdrawal. The reality of persecution needn’t mean that we treat religious liberty as some superficial perk in a humanistic political order, available and desirable only for our comfortability and personal pleasure. As with any other corner of creation, God has a design for government, and adhering to that design is good for all of creation. It is the Christian’s role to fight for the advancement of God’s Kingdom, but this includes the fight for a government that aligns with the powers God gave it. Religious liberty is at the heart of that struggle, representing the most basic of all freedoms. When it comes to the religion we choose, God holds the authority, not the government, and we shouldn’t be afraid to connect the dots from the there. In Our Program: A Christian Political Manifesto4, Abraham Kuyper describes “freedom of conscience” as “a boundary that the state may never cross,” reminding us that “the limits to state power reside in the will of God” and “government has as much power as God has assigned to it. No more; no less.” Read on -->> The Key to Understanding Christian Advocacy of Free Markets
By Joe Carter at the Acton Institute Blog All Christian ethics can be summed up in one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:391). And within that command is the provision, as the Apostle Paul said, “Love does no harm to a neighbor” (Romans 13:102). This is why the Christian approach to public policy should begin with a simple standard: Because we love our neighbors, we should not support policies that we suspect will cause them harm. Unfortunately, while the rule is simple to state it can be difficult to apply. We don’t always know or agree on what policies will cause harm. Still, any type of policy that is presumed or known to cause harm should be carefully scrutinized. A prime example is government regulations. As economist Scott Sumner says3, “One of the most basic ideas in economics is that the vast majority of regulations are harmful.”* Read on -->> "Some freedoms are not absolute, and that in a secular society religious freedom must sometimes give way to the law." - Greens candidate Martine Delaney.
This is what is coming if the Greens/ALP gain power and if the marriage law is changed. The Greens and Bill Shorten/Penny Wong's ALP will trample on the freedoms our forefathers fought and died for. They are arrogant in their attempts to subjugate us and deserve nothing but to be completely ignored on 2nd July 2016. Paul Kelly speaks plainly against Safe Schools deception.
What kind of Education Minister was Christopher Pyne that he let this sneak through? And what kind of Liberal leader will Malcolm Turnbull be now that this has been exposed? Paul Kelly: The Safe Schools Coalition agenda taken up by about 500 schools in this country to promote understanding of gender and sexual diversity is a brilliant insight into the ideological campaigns now transforming cultural values in Australia through capture of institutions… The Turnbull government’s lightning-fast review of the program was delivered to Education Minister Simon Birmingham’s department yesterday… It is guaranteed to become a test of Liberal Party values under Malcolm Turnbull. Tony Abbott, who did nothing about the program as PM, has called it “social engineering” and wants the funds scrapped.... The Safe Schools program ... is funded by the Victorian government, and an $8 million contribution made by the former ALP federal government continued during the Abbott-Turnbull era. The aim is to combat homophobic and transphobic bullying… Most people know an anti-bullying program when they see it. But this is something else — a pervasive and radical ideological agenda… A reading of the materials shows this ideology is relentless and explicit: gender is not a binary male-female stereotype but a process of self-expression and “how you feel inside” and “may change over time”. Gender should not be reduced to the question “is it a boy or a girl?” because “there are a whole range of human bodies that are somewhere between”. The philosophy is that “it’s up to the individual to describe what gender identity fits them best"… It is hard not to conclude there is a sinister aspect to the program… The deliberate purpose is to weaken or break down or question the settled view of gender that many young people and students possess… Some quotes to help you courageously defend marriage, family and children:
"There is nothing homophobic about supporting traditional marriage." - Former Australian Prime Minister John Howard. “You will never build a society on it. You will not build a nation on it.” - Paul Keating on same-sex marriage. “Intact and fully functional families constitute the least costly social welfare system yet devised by mankind.” - John Howard. It is "an affront to the Aboriginal People of Australia to suggest another definition of marriage." - Statement form 70 Aboriginal leaders opposing same-sex "marriage.' “Life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed… You are born to a mother and a father… The family is not a fad.” – Dolce & Gabbana (homosexual fashion designers). "No one is born gay. The idea is ridiculous... Homosexuality is not an inborn trait." Dr. Camille Paglia (Homosexual). Is Malcolm really a Liberal? Can we have economic freedom without financial restraint and morality.2/6/2016 "Malcolm Turnbull has been forced to defend his Liberal credentials after a talkback caller queried what he stood for.
Ken, a long-time Liberal voter, told 2GB when he looks at Mr Turnbull he's unsure whether he's a Labor or Liberal prime minister. "My life and the values of my party are values of economic freedom and enterprise and that is what most Australians see as where their future lies," Mr Turnbull replied." (The Australian) Is that right Mr. Turnbull! Economic freedom and enterprise without the values and moral foundation upon which they can be built, will not last very long. We cannot have a strong economy without financial and moral restraint. Creating a massive un-repayable national debt and destroying marriage and family will lead our nation to economic and political slavery not freedom. Dumbing down our children's education in schools and replacing a proper education with dangerous sex-ed programs and gender confusion nonsense will lead a generation or more toward a mental health crisis and worse, toward a youth suicide crisis. Why, as our PM, are you not standing up for our children? |
Craig MannersWhile much of what is written in this Blog may currently appear to be counter-cultural, given our post-truth culture, it is in no way counter-human beings. I am always for people no matter what they think, do, or may have done in their past. Where I put forward ideas or debate against certain ideology, behaviour, ideas, movements, politics, I remain very much on the side of the human beings even though I may be opposed to their worldview, behaviour and politics. Such opposition is generally out of concern for the ultimate consequences of such behaviour or ideas, especially for children. |
